How does it work​

Sombrero Savings automatically reduces your costs by covering a significant part of your EC2 On-Demand that is not covered by any Savings Plans or Reserved Instances commitments to AWS.

We are monitoring your EC2 workload and our technology is adjusting the savings accordingly to your monthly EC2 on-demand usage. It then covers the steady workload (spikes aren't expected to be covered).

Watch your savings​

You are able to view the savings dashboard by selecting Sombrero Savings in the menu, or by clicking here.

Activate Sombrero Savings​

You are able to start saving by selecting Sombrero Savings in the menu and activating it by clicking on “activate” button.

Once you activate Sombrero Savings, we will start savings your organization costs from the following month(e.g - You activated Sombrero Savings in October 10th, we will start savings costs from November 1st).

What should I expect in terms of savings​

The expected savings on EC2 on-demand are up to 1-year Convertible Reserved instances with Full Upfront commitment (https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/pricing/reserved-instances/pricing/) and between 80% to 100% of the savings percentage on your steady workload.
